Way Out West Music Festival – Goteborg, Sweden

I hung out at Swedish student town - Goteborg to attend their annual music festival Way Out West. The Way Out West festival is held over 2 days and compare to other music festivals I attended in the past, I got to go home to a very nice apartment (Thanks to my other Australian mate who’s on business for 2 months in Goteborg) and warm shower.
The Swedish crowds are crazy but in control, just. So unlike other festivals I did’nt see any puking, drugs overdoses or brawls/fights.
There were many lineups but I picked and chose only ones I like to watch, here are some quick highlights:
- Franz Ferdinand -they’re awesome, I could marry each one of them
- Grinderman – Nick Cave opened his shirt buttons to show some sexy chest hair
- Kelis – did not get to see her much but managed to get glimpses
- N.E.R.D – these guys rock! the crowds went mad
- Iron and Wine – still my favourite
- Sigur Ros – She’s amazing, the total darkness in Iceland must have encouraged all those creativity and talent (e.g. Bjork)
- Flaming lips – best performance, he went crowd surfing in plastic orbs!!! Also mentioning - alternative musical instruments and teletubbies as entourages
- Jose Gonzales – Spanish Guitar talent, sang heartbeat acoustic style
- Caesars – Jerk it Off!
- Neil Young – A true Legend!
- Way Out West Logo
- Me (far right) and my mates
- I only wore this for 2 days :)! some people had this type of bracelet for weeks, gross!
- A cool beer holder
- Nick McCarthy and Alex Kopranos from Franz Ferdinand
- Franz Ferdinand Famous Duo – Nick McCarthy and Alex Kopranos
- Alex Kopranos, Will you marry me!!!!
- Grinderman
- Nick Cave (white shirt)
