Voyages Resort – Northern Territory, Australia

During my visit to Uluru while holidaying in the Northern Territory, Australia, I stayed at the Uluru Voyages Resort (15 mins from the Uluru airport). Voyages has all types of accommodation for visitors ranging from camping, boutique style to 5 stars. It also has all the important facilities such as swimming pool, health club, arts galleries, cafes/restaurants, post office, doctors, petrol/fuel/gas station and supermarket.
Lots of visitors prefer to stay in Alice Springs and get accommodation there as it is cheaper, however with the drive over 400km long and seeing that you want at least 2 days in Uluru, it was better off getting accommodation in Uluru. We stayed at Voyages Lost Camel Hotel which is a boutique style accommodation. We had access to the pretty much everything. TV, swimming pool, air con, internet, restaurants and more. One thing you should definitely try if you are ever at the Uluru Voyages Resort is to go to their seafood buffet restaurant. I stuffed my face with many seafood dishes. The hot meat/seafood dishes seemed to be a united nations style of cooking (has a bit of Moroccan, French, Chinese twist). The seafood is fresh and the price is just about right considering there isn’t other options around.
What I like about their restaurants in the resort is that they all serve local Australian wine instead of European wine. Seeing that I’m visiting Australia, I’d love to taste the local wine. Also Australia makes some of the best wine in the world so it all makes perfect sense. On the other hand, if you’re in Turkey, you may want to skip the local wine and just go direct with their Raki (Vodka like drink).
If this all seems a little too expensive, you can go el-cheapo and BBQ your own food at the BBQing facilities. They even have a supermarket there to get all your meat!
