What I got in the past on Valentine's Day, I wonder what I will get this year :)

What I got for Valentine's Day last year, I wonder what I will get this year :)

Valentine’s Day is the best time to spoil your lover/partner/mistress, etc. If you are looking for ideas for Valentine’s day here are a few :)

Here are some suggestions:

The Classic and Playing it safe

This is the classic valentine’s day gift and ALWAYS work :) Buy her flowers (roses), take her to a nice dinner and to get that extra brownie point you can buy her a small gift.

On Budget

This shouldn’t be called ‘on budget’ as you’re giving away something with extra thought, effort and creativity. The saying is true, “it’s the thought that counts”

  • Bake her a valentine’s day cookie or cake (in a shape of a heart) or dip strawberries on chocolates.
  • If the weather’s good - Take her to a picnic (can be on the beach or park) or rooftop of apartments/buildings - enjoy the sunset together
  • If the weather’s freezing – you can light up the living room with candles and cook her dinner – then watch romantic DVD movies together, I like it with a comedy twist (e.g. Roman Holiday by Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffanys)
  • Buy her a small present or make your own present such as compiling music CDs or make an I Owe You Check book which may say (will give you foot massage, take you shopping, etc)

Alternative:

  • Go to high tower in your town/city, can be sky crapper or mountain hills and enjoy the scenery views from there
  • Go make your own memory photo. Armed each with a digital camera, go find interesting places to take photos of each other. The whole experience will certainly worth treasuring. This can also be done by going to different passport photo booths and make funny faces.
  • Get on a helicopter ride and enjoy the experience together.
  • Do extreme sports together such as rock climbing, sky diving, bungy jumping, Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, etc. It tests your love for each other :) .
  • Go to a cinema (instead of your usual dinner/picnic date). It’s cheap and enjoyable spending time snuggling covered with pop corn.

For me, I like flowers on Valentine’s Day since I am always traveling and away from home for work. These days flowers can be sent to anywhere in the world!

Here’s a Valentine’s present from a secret admirer and I’m still yet to find out to this day who it is but I grateful nonetheless. :P
