The 81st Academy Awards (aka The Oscars) is soon to be here!!

Good Luck Heath! May you win the Oscar you so truly deserve

As the Joker would say, “here we go”. So the Oscars are coming and other than movies & awards there’s the fashion! In fact the fashion seems to be taking the centre stage in recent years. Who will wear what? Who will make it to my BEST and to my EWEEE List? .

Stay tuned. In the meantime here’s who I think will win.

• Nominations for Leading role Actor: Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), Sean Penn (Milk), Brad Pitt (The curious case of Benjamin Button), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) Mai’s favourite to win: Brad Pitt.

• Nominations for Supporting role Actor: Josh Brolin (Milk), Robert Downey Jr (Tropic Thunder), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Doubt), Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight), Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road). Mai’s favourite to win: Heath Ledger all the way!

• Nominations for Leading role Actress: Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married), Anglina Jolie (Changeling), Melissa Leo (Frozen River), Meryl Streep (Doubt), Kate Winslet (The Reader). Mai’s favourite to win: Kate Winslet. Just give her the Oscar already.

• Nominations for Supporting role Actress: Amy Adams (Doubt), Penelope Cruz (Vicky Christina Barcelona), Viola Davis (Doubt), Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler) Mai’s favourite to win: Marisa Tomei. I love her!!

• Nominations Best Picture: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, Milk, The Reader, Slumdog Millionaire Mai’s favourite to win: Slumdog Millionaire. Awesome feel good movie!
