Pacific Brands, makers of popular aussie brands such as Bonds, Workwear, Hard Yakka, Berlei, King Gee & Sheridan has announced today that it will stand by its decision to close down it’s clothing manufacturing plants, thus making 1850 workers redundant.

Ok so this kind of thing happens all the time, companies moving to China to try cut cost but what really sucks is that just before the sackings:

1. They decided to give themselves a pat on the back and give themselves a payrise! Total renumeration for Pacific Brands 13 directors & seniour exectuives more than doubled DOUBLED last year. CEO Sue Morphet’s pay packet rose from $685,775 to $1.86 millio!*

2. Had a $15 million Federal Government handout that was supposed to bolster Pacific Brands’ local manufacturing operations.

Shame on them! Why on earth will I buy anything from them anymore? and if you feel that the 1850 workers had been cheated you should consider boycotting the brands yourselves.

This really makes my skin boil. I looked at Pacific Brands (PBG) share price today  and in the last 5 days it has gone down 42%.

Pacific Brands Sucks. Suffer!
