Sweden – Stockholm

Autumn in Stockholm
This is my second visit to Sweden. The first time was when I visited Swedish Student Town of Goteborg for a music festival. I have also visited the other part of Scandanavia – Norway.
Stockholm is a very interesting and pretty city. First of all, it consists of many islands and surrounded by water. It is known as an archipelago city - where tiny islands form a city. Being in Scandanavia, you find your typical food – Fish ranging from very salty herrings to Salmon. Stockholm, being almost at the tip of the equator, has more than 20 hours of daylight during summer and constant darkness during winter. If you’re born there I guess you’ll get used to it.
Maybe that’s why the Swedish people are so creative (remember IKEA). I really enjoy the city atmosphere, it has a different feeling from Goteborg. I love the wooden crafts and was really close to splurge on a piece of furniture (not IKEA) and a swedish clock but realising that I have no more room in my place to fit them in. Walking around the city is really lovely. I managed to visit:
- Gamla Stan - Stockholm Old City with its cute handicrafts, galleries and alleyways
- Stadshuset – Stockholm City Hall which is a very interesting building itself. This is the place where the noble dinner usually hosts.
- Vasa Museum – which hosts the only surviving 17th century ship in the world
- Skansen Museum – Outdoor museum which allows you to experience anything you need to know about Sweden as a country (lifestyle, wildlifes, history) in one place
- Autumn in Stockholm
- My very modest and conviniently located hotel – Best Western Terminus (right opposite the central station and McDonalds :))
