Cesky Krumlov Castle

Cesky Krumlov Castle

As part of my Eastern Europe trip, I decided to take a day trip to Prague (Praha) to a medieval town of Cesky Krumlov. You can get here by joining the local tour group, the driving takes about 2 hours from Prague.

The Cesky Krumlov town itself is very beautiful with its cobbled stone footpath. While the main attraction in Cesky Krumlov is the Prague Castle (Hradcany Castle) make sure you also visit the Cesky Krumlov Castle and Garden. I was surprised when I visited the castle that it was actually opened – since I  went in November. The weather is definetely a little bit chiller since it is winter time, however the luxury of not having so many people around and bus tours are great:).

I started my journey by entering the castle garden which is beautiful covered with autumn leaves. The fountains and statues were very intersting and the garden had an open revolving stage.

The audience seats sections are revolving because the garden sceneries will form the backdrop during plays or concerts. Simply amazing. Around September every year, the garden also hosts famous musical and plays.

I started walking around the castle to visit interesting landmarks but what everyone of you need to visit are the bears!! Yes, the castles are guarded by bears. I did not get to see them but I have seen my friends’ photos. The bears were caged of course and placed where the ‘moat’ like area.
