Mai at The Royal Melbourne Show
This year I received free tickets to the 2009 Royal Melbourne Show (17 - 27 September 2009). The Melbourne Show is one of those events where I tell everyone its not worth going, its too expensive, too many people, bad food, the smell and how its the same every year. However, without fail, after going on my last ride and leaving the turnstile at 4:00pm every year I would think to myself what an enjoyable day I have. Secretly, I think I love the Melbourne Show, Ssshhh.
The highlight of show every year is the Dog show. I love the dogs and spend about half the time just watching the judging and spending time looking at the breeds and talking to the breeders. Sometimes, they let me brush and comb the dogs as they prepare their dogs for show. Awesome!
I also went on 1 ride. I believe this is almost a must. To not go on a ride while at the show is almost like not having a drink at a office Christmas party :P. Let it be known that I am VERY afraid of heights. So anyway the I forgot the name of the ride I went on but it was sitting on a swingthingo that went round and round from 50metres in the air. Scared the beejezuz out of me.

The show is not cheap at all, but I agree with you, it brings back childhood memory and that’s what being a child for :). Kids have to experience the show just make sure you limit them to 1 or 2 show bags/rides hehehe…
