Etch Restaurant - Sydney, Australia
Leave the first response December 7, 2009 / Posted in Food & WineOK my dear Sydney fans, this is the 2nd restaurant review for the week, hope you enjoy it.
This time, I thought I’d pick a restaurant right at the heart of the Sydney CBD - Etch Restaurant
62 Bridge St,
Sydney - NSW 2000
Ph: +61 (0) 2 9247 4777
I like the decor of this restaurant - really pretty with lightly dimmed ambient. The food is not just tasty but presented beautifully like a piece of art. I did not manage to take a picture of the dessert but here what I had for the night :).
For Entree - Spring vegetable salad, crispy hen egg, hazelnut emulsion AU$19
What I like about this dish is, it looks like a scottish egg but in a sophisticated way. You get a whole egg with really crunchy crust, as you cut through it, a runny warm egg yolk oozes out…hmm…Spring vegetable salad consists of asparagus, croguettes, raddishes, and other spring vegies which are crunchy and fresh.

For Main - I had Flathead, Serrano ham, parsnip puree, potato fondant, jus grass AU$33
This is a nice dish, the combination of salty serrano ham and neutral flathead fish is lovely. The parsnip puree adds the velvety texture while the crispy potato fondant adds a crunch to the dish. The sweet jus grass ties everything together…YUM YUM!
