Wooden Puppets on sale at Piazza Navona's christmas market

Rome consists of many districts. A couple of my favourites are Trastevere (where you can find strips of restaurants), and a very charming square called Piazza Navona. What attracts me to Piazza Navona is the Bernini Fountain as mentioned in Dan Brown’s Novel of Angels and Demons. The fountain was being cleaned when I made the visit.

During Christmas, the Piazza (square) hosts a christmas market full of local handicrafts and delicacies – mostly in a form of sweets. Around Piazza Navona, there are a lot of cafes where tourists can enjoy a sit down and people watch. Around it are little alley ways full of gelaterias, local housings and antiques shops meet right at the square.
