Iphone Apps - Shazam Free
This is one application that everyone appreciates whether it is used ALL of the time or not. If you don’t find yourselves using it often, for those moments where it does come in handy the space on your springboard dedicated to the Shazaam icon is well and truly worth the real estate. Ever hear a song at a club, festival, on an advertisement, in a movie or on the radio and wonder what it is? Of course you have!
The satisfaction of being able to press the tag now button in Shazaam then having all the details of your song displayed on screen within 10 seconds is a marvel. Songs are displayed with a picture of the album alongside track information and some really neat options provided for you, it is stored in a thumbnail playlist of all the songs you have tagged so far. You can then come back to your playlist at a later date and chase up all these great tracks you heard and want to hear again.
The song identification net of Shazaam is wide and accurate covering all mainstream songs, most independent songs I have looked for (though perhaps understandably behind with new local Australian releases) and even accurate for songs that are remixes.
Shazaam will not recognise humming or live performances of music. I think this would be an unreasonable expectation of this fantastic FREE application to begin with.
