Mai on her relaxing long weekend at Launceston, Tasmania (Australia)

So one of my friend asked me where she should go for Easter seeing we all had a 4 day weekend. She wanted something back to nature with beautiful sights, fresh air, nice walks and somewhere very relaxing, so I recommend that she should head off to Tassie! (Tasmania)

I was in the middle of setting up an itinerary for my friend when I thought to myself, hec I should head to tassie myself too. So I did.

I took Friday off and flew out of Sydney to Launceston (with a quick stop over in Melbourne).

Here is my itinerary guide for Launceston

Friday – Tamar Valley (Lunch and Mini Golf) I decided to celebrate my arrival by having a long lunch at one of Tamar Valley’s vineyards of Ninth Island at a restaurant called Daniel Alps at Strathlynn then off to practise my putting at Putt-In Mini Golf (10 minutes drive from the vineyard).

18 holes of challenging Mini Golf at Tamar Valley (a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon)

Saturday – 5 hours hike of Cradle Mountain
After spending the night at a small town called Deloraine, we took few hours drive to the Cradle Mountain National Park where we ambitiously aimed to conquer the peak of the infamous Cradle Mountain.
I was visiting the warmest town in Tasmania – St Helen. It is a resort town with pristine beaches decorated with red/orange coloured boulder stones and plants (hence the name Bays of Fires) which seem to be the perfect spot for Game Fishing and Seafood Lovers (you can eat the freshest lobsters, oysters, fish).
Monday – Launceston
Before heading back to the airport, a long extended lunch at The Mill Providore and Gallery is a must. Although I had a glance of the Cataract Gorge, it’s ashamed I didn’t have time to take a cruise and enjoy the scenery. I guess it’s an excuse to come back next time :)
